I bought this powder as it had the extra coverage as it is a foundation powder in pressed compact and it is only when I looked closely at the back of the compact, I realised that it has an SPF of 32 PA+++. I usually avoid powders with SPF on account of flashback.
I usually use powders more for setting purpose than for using it as a base. With this powder I feel it does not do a good job of layering over other products especially around my nose and forehead region. It is a very soft powder that does blend well on its own with sheer coverage and beautiful illuminating properties.
It comes in a beautiful rose-gold rectangle compact with a sponge, although I would not recommend the sponge if you are using it dry as it deposits the products in one area and does not do a good job of blending it well. On a whim I tried the powder as a foundation by using a wet sponge. It gave a grey white cast to my skin as if i had applied flour to my face. You get 9gms of product for Rs. 650/-. I am in the shade soft almond which is perfect for my skin.
It isn't very good at oil controlling especially if you are spending long hours at a function, oil and grease will seep through the product. I noticed alot of oiliness when I checked in on my face after 5 hours of application.
I feel Loreal Mat Magic has equally good coverage and illumination with SPF, but it is a better formula when it comes to mattifying and blending, not to mention that is cheaper this powder.
The packaging is simple and super classy, with a matte-beige colored outer case. The compact comes with a full-sized mirror. It is very convenient to carry around and the mirror helps for touch ups. The sponge provided seems good, but I cannot get to work well with it and it is not of much use to me.
I chose the shade “Beige” that I felt would match my fair skin tone among the other shades that were available. I must say the shade selection is not very impressive and would not match a lot of Indian skin tones. My shade doesn’t look very much like what it looks in the pan. Upon application, it looks very cakey and gives a patchy finish. I cannot say that it is satiny smooth, but it is quite smooth, but not up to my satisfaction.
It is supposedly a two-way cake, but I do not think it works in the wet form at all. It gives coverage to blemishes to an extent, but its biggest flaw is that it looks very cakey on me. I guess the shade I got is wrong for me. A little amount will go a long way, and applying too much will leave a whitish cast. The texture is a boon to oily skinned beauties as it controls oil well for 3+ hours. It does clog up the pores. My sister likes it better and it suits her skin well. This compact looks very cakey on me and tends to highlight dry patches, so it will not suit dry skinned beauties that well.
Pretty good...dnt like the sponge that comes along with it
