Today i will be reviewing the dream satin skin liquid mousse foundation by Maybelline. So without wasting much time lets start with the packaging of the foundation.
The Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation comes in a cylindrical glass bottle with a pump dispenser. It is further accompanied by a transparent cap to protect the dispenser. The glass bottle is transparent which enables you to see the shade of the foundation and also the shade name is written just on the lower front. Although I am not a fan of glass bottle as I have the habit of accidentally dropping things very often, the pump dispenser was a relief. The pump works perfectly fine and allows you to customize the amount of product you want. I have never travelled with this foundation (I prefer BB/CC creams mostly for travelling) but all I can say is you have to be slightly careful. Overall, the packaging was decent.
It retails for Rs.750 for 30 ml of product.
The shade card was not impressive. It has only 6 shades (two slight yellow toned, one beige, one neutral and one pink toned) color and would mostly cover the fair to medium skin tones. For dusky or deeper complexion, there was no color whatsoever. My skin tone is NC 35 and is slightly tanned in summer with strong warm toned and I chose the shade B5. It has warm yellow under tone but feels slightly light on the skin tone. However, I prefer to mix it with a darker medium to use it and then only I get the proper shade. So, the shade card is a serious botheration I faced with this foundation. To brighten the complexion, use Banana powder to set it. Shades available are-
* Classic Ivory
* Pure Beige
* Natural Beige
* Nude Beige
The coverage for this foundation is medium to buildable. My skin is in a good condition for now except for a bit of unevenness and pigmentation and the foundation gladly covers it up without hesitation. It is definitely not going to cover up the scars and marks and for that you have to use concealer. For a daily usable drugstore foundation, I feel the coverage is just fine. Although it has SPF, the whitish cast is thankfully not there. However, when I tried to photograph wearing this, it wasn’t very flattering either. However, under natural light, it looks pretty good. Hence, I would not recommend this for bridal purpose.
The foundation has the consistency of liquid mousse – something like liquid but air whipped. The texture of the foundation is something I can really appreciate as it is so easy to apply and blend. It spreads well on the face and requires a very little amount. Having said that it leaves no room for cakey or uneven finish and makes the skin breathable. Further, it doesn’t clog the pores or break me out at all. It gives you enough time to blend in and doesn’t accentuate n fine lines. Now, having an oily skin I realized this foundation is a better choice for dry skin than mine.
I apply a gel sunscreen and then the foundation on top. I apply it on the areas with my fingers where I need the most coverage or brightening and spread it slightly. Then, using a dam Beauty Blender I buff it onto the skin and blend it thoroughly. The application is easy and makes it a lot easier. It feels very light and comfortable on the skin.
The finish of the foundation is downright dewy on my oily skin. Hence, if you want a matte look, invest in a good oil control powder or compact on top of it to make all the shine go away. For any kind of skin, this is a perfect dewy foundation and would be an excellent choice for winters.
OIL CONTROL AND OXIDIZATION–
As it is mentioned before, the foundation is best for the dry skin, the oil control is really poor. It turns my face shiny and oily within two hours of application and best if I wear it in winter months. Otherwise, you have to touch up with compact every few hours. The foundation doesn’t oxidize on my skin at all. Although I wear a shade slightly lighter but still I haven’t noticed any orange-dullness on the skin.
The foundation lasts on me for about 4-5hours with one touch-up. It has the tendency to melt away with the heat and humidity of June on my super oily skin. I believe it will have a better staying power in winters or for dry skin type.
1. It comes with a pump dispenser
2. Liquid air whipped texture
3. The foundation applied with sponge and fingers
4. It has good blendable and comfortable feeling texture
5. Gives a gorgeous natural and luminous finish
6. Won’t cause break outs
7. Dewy air brushed finish
8. Doesn’t oxidize
9. Dermatologically tested
10. The foundation has SPF 24 with PA++ protection
11. Best suitable for dry skin
1. Glass packaging
2. Poor oil control
3. Poor shade card
4. Price could have been better
OVERALL – A drugstore foundation with an incredible liquid air-whipped texture, medium coverage that gives a gorgeous natural and luminous finish and best suited for dry skin is surely a decent pick for winters. However, it won’t be a flattering one for summers in India.
If you are looking for a good foundation with comfortable price tag for winters, this is surely a nice pick. However, for summers it is a strict no!
One of my all time favourite Foundation. It provides me full coverage after concealing. I feel flawless and feel smoothness on my face. It gives a dewy finish. My eye makeup, blush, highlight says intact on this base. Perfect for party makeup. Also i feel it is non-transferable. Amazing product by Maybelline.

Maybelline is one go to brand which has an amazing range of products, be it lip balms, lipsticks, mascaras, liners or foundations. I simply love this foundation which I have in the shade B3. It comes in a transparent glass bottle with a pump dispenser. The coverage is medium but it is just perfect for everyday usage. The product is not at all matte. It gives an amazing velvety finish t your face when blended well. It feels so soft and lightweight on the skin. It stays on well for around 4-5 hours. The price is also not on the heavier side for the quantity it provides.

I simply love the way it blends on skin, gives full coverage by using PAC blender. It doesn't settle down in fine lines, I have shade B5 which perfect for Indian skin, it doesn't gives you Cakey look for 4-5 hours. Finish is dewy, and perfect for night parties. Even if you apply it on daily basis that is a go to go product. I was searching for this kind of foundation for long time. I bought it from nykaa on sale for just INR 220... Surprised but yes that's true I gave only 1/3 of it's actual price so totally worth it for me... ????????

Lovely foundation that glides onto the skin. I struggle to find foundations that don't look too cakey on my skin, has good coverage but with a dewy look.
You not need to use too much each application but do be aware that when you first put it on your skin it looks very thick but just blend and it is perfect. The coverage is great for what I need it goes on smoothly, doesn't crinkle or crease or sit in any fine lines. I now use this as my every day foundation and will definitely be buying again when I need more.

First off of all, I just love the finish of this product, especially when I blend it using a brush or a beauty blender, it just gives such a wonderful and unique finish to my face. It literally looks satiny Which is really cool because I haven't seen this kind finish from any other foundation I've tried till now. The coverage is great too. It was a medium coverage. As for pore coverage, I think it does well in that aspect as well. It's creamy when applied and finishes with a matte touch. It is Definitely gentle on skin and fragrance-free as well.
