affordable kajal with such an amazing formulation. highly pigmented and pure black color. stays for a good 8 hours.
Maybelline Colossal Kohl had come up with the color kohls that have been in trend amongst college bees. Apart from the basic black kohl I like wearing browns/coppers/plums midnight blues from Avon cosmetics. I have SMOKED SILVER shade from Maybelline Colossal Kohl, its of gray shade (n I love it). It has good stay with minimal smudging at some point.
Texture: The kajal has creamy texture so it gives smooth application. I the Colossal Kohl to even create smoky eyed look.
Shade : Smoked silver – not much at silver as it is more of gray toned ,slightly light on pigmentation.
maybelline colossal kohl has many other shades in the range : Crushed Emerald(emerald green ), Jeweled Jade(teal blue).
Packaging: The Maybelline Colossal Kohl comes in yellow colored retractable pencil packaging just like other Maybelline liners.
Price : I bought my Colossal Kohl stick @ 220/- INR from nearby market.
Maybe I was bored with the regular black lined eyes and wanted to try some color on! That is when I picked up the maybelline kohl in the shade turquoise. It comes in a few more shades but i picked this one up since I wanted to try blue and green liners on my eyes, and this one looked like something in between!
Price: 249 INR for 0.35 g
The product comes in a convenient retractable pencil form and glides on smoothly to give a nice teal color. The color is not at all prominent on my waterline but shows up really well when I use it as an eyeliner. It instantly adds a pop of color to my eyes and gives them a break from the monotonous black lining. It does not move or smudge on my upper lid for upto 8 hours which is a pretty good wear time. Overall, I like using the product for a change but it is not the best formula since it does not work on the waterline. I might buy it again, but in some other shade!

If you are person like me who loves playing with shades of blues and greens on the eyes, then jeweled jade is what you need have as it’s a gorgeous unique shade which would definitely make your eyes stand out . If you like to take a break from the regular black kajal, then give these amazing colossal kohls a try as they have good color pay off and feels comfortable on the eyes . I would definitely try crushed emerald and smoked silver from this range. The pigmentation of this colossal kajal is medium to buildable, its not supremely pigmented but the texture is smooth and moderately creamy ,it glides easily and feels quite comfortable on the eyes. Once applied it stays smudge proof for good5-6 hours not amazingly like for 12 hours as it claims to be. As it is in retraceable form its quite easy to use and there is no hassle of sharpening the pencil. The color intensity of jeweled jade is good too , I did not need to swipe a zillion times to get the actual color on the eye. Applying this beautiful shade kohl on upper or lower water line can definitely give your eyes a refreshing summer look .

I had purchased the shade Turquoise from this range and it is a very glistening teal shade which looks very beautiful with my brown eyes. The texture of these liners very creamy, smooth and for not tug at all during application. They can be used as an eyeliner or even as an eyeshadow and eyeshadow based smudged over the lid. The only con that I can find is that it transfers onto my upper eyelid after a course of 3-4 hours so as a result you need to mattify your eyelids before its application ,otherwise on the oily lids it smudge a bit .The colour though is very beautiful and definitely worth considering.
As soon as I heard of this new launch, I ran to Lifestyle to purchase this amazing kohl. 3 new shades *wohoo* I chose to purchase the kajal in Jewelled Jade shade as I’m soon going to run out of my blue eye liner. Although, when I purchased it; what surprised me was that this new launch doesn’t come in a cardboard outer packaging much like the other shades. Bad cost cutting idea I would say. This will deprive the customers of information like ingredients, claims etc.
The packaging is the same as every other Maybelline colossal kajal. No innovation here. Except for the brand name, product name and shade name, nothing else is mentioned on the stick. The cap shuts with a click which will allow the product to survive travelling.
‘Jewelled Jade’ is a peacock blue color with shimmer in it. The shimmer is the part of its texture and therefore it’s only visible from near otherwise it shines when seen from far away. The shimmer doesn’t hurt the eyes or anything. The texture is moderately smooth but the pigmentation is low. A few swipes are required to build desired color and shine. A light hand at application is needed because it has a delicate tip which is brittle. Retractable and twist liners and kajals are better than the sharpening ones as it saves us from product wastage.
The stay time is fine too. It stays on for nearly 5 hours after which it starts to fade. It is a smudge-proof kajal which steals the brownie points! It can be worn either way, on the top lash line or the lower lash line. Either way it looks beautiful.
All in all, it’s a nice beautiful shade that will suit all skin tones and the color intensity can be controlled too.
