11 ELLE 18 COLOR POPS LIPSTICKS REVIEW AND SWATCHES

July 14, 2013 by Lancy Cv 30 Comments

Hello everyone!

A few days back, one of our writers suggested me to make a post on all Elle 18 lipsticks that were reviewed on MABH. While going through the posts, I realized that 11 Elle 18 lipsticks have been reviewed on MABH till today! A special thanks to all our lovely writers! :) These cuties are black, girly and moreover very very affordable. Aren’t they? Enjoy the short reviews and swatches! This will help you choose the shades wisely!

Price : Rs.100 for 4.3 ml; Available : Amazon.in

Packaging:

Elle 18 Color Pops Lipsticks come in a cute black plastic lipstick bullet with a twist up bottom. The shade name and number are printed on the bottom of the lipsticks. The packaging makes these tiny ones easy to carry, user friendly and mess free. The only problem you might have to face is ‘breakage’. If you are living in hotter cities of India, I am sure it would melt and break from the bottom if not stored inside the refrigerator. But for 100INR, I am not complaining.

A decent range

Elle18 is a range of beauty products known for it's affordable range. I tried the pomegranate shade and the Candy Kiss. Application is not simple, as one swipe is not sufficient. IT lasts for about 3-4 hours, which is decent. I do not like it's finish much, as it does not look anywhere close to matte.
With all these cons, but Rs 100 for a stick, it still stays a "Will buy" since, I may need a shade for an occasion, and may not use it again later, or I might want to experiment with colours in this range. It claims to have cocoa butter, but I still do not find it very moisturizing, never the less, it does not dry out your lips.Packaging is the usual.
PS : One more con : IF you stay at a hot and humid place - this could melt easily. I also never purchase this online, since it sometimes melts by the time it reaches.

Good

I have his in the shade Pinken and Red Rouge. These have a moisturizing balm at the centre. The come in the quintessential Elle18 packaging. The lipsticks are of good pigmentation with a glossy finish. They are moisturizing and apply smoothly on the lips. They last for decent amount of time but won't survive heavy meals. These are everyday lipstick available at affordable prices. Also they are very easily available and have good shade range. They do transfer a bit. Also it has a peculiar smell to this which I personally don't like and thus I haven't bought other shades fro this range.Overall they are average.

Wildberry wet

I have the shade wildberry wet and it is a sheer glossy lipstick.
It lasts for about 2-3 hours.
The finish is quite glossy.
It does transfer a lot.
For the price of Rs 100 it is definitely worth it.
It does not get flaky but wears out gradually
I would try to pair it up with bold smokey eyes as i love the finish of this lipstick but the shade is almost invisible.

Ok

Elle 18 Color Pops Lipsticks come in a cute black plastic lipstick bullet with a twist up bottom. The shade name and number are printed on the bottom of the lipsticks. The packaging makes these tiny ones easy to carry, user friendly and mess free. The only problem you might have to face is ‘breakage’. If you are living in hotter cities of India (Eg. Chennai) then I am sure it would melt and break from the bottom if not stored inside the refrigerator. But for 100 bucks.. hmm well, I am not complaining. The lipsticks are more prone to breakage if not stored in a refrigerator.
These lipsticks smell sweet, bubble gum-like; but few girls out there hate the smell!
All these lipsticks contain a moisturizing core in the center to prevent lips from drying.
The staying power ranges from 2-4 hours but not more than that due to the creamy nature.
If you have dry lips, these lipsticks are best affordable picks for you!
For 100 bucks, these are one of the best selling lipsticks in India.
No one I know has ever experienced allergies/irritation with these lippies.

Good as a Lipbalm

these are definitely not super pigmented lipsticks. They are more like pigmented balms. It has a sheer texture and most of them have shimmer in them. They do not have a great staying power obviously because of the sheer glossy texture. I bought it for around rs. 100 so it works well as a daily wear lip balm.
