The Best Ways To Use Different Essential Oils

Essential oils have been used for decades; and have become the current rumble and craze all thanks to their potential to change our lives in different ways. There are innumerable choices to opt for when it comes to essential oils are there are multiple ways these can be used. One of the most common ways to use essential oils is diffusers, or, they can be used topically as well.  If not, you could also use them by adding them to your food or drinks. Interesting? Instant Stress Relief:



You need an instant pick me up after a stressful day at work? Something that relaxes you in a jiffy? Grab a bowl and fill with steaming hot water and add a drop each of Lavender, Eucalyptus and Peppermint oils to it. Cover your head with a towel, and take a nice steam i.e. slow deep breathing for maximum relaxation.  Adding to its stress-busting properties, it enhances circulation which helps add a beautiful rosy glow to the skin!


Cough Relief:



Has the weather taken a toll on your health, and the hacking cough and allergies do not seem to go away? Massage a mixture of a few drops of Eucalyptus oil in about 30 ml of Olive Oil on your chest to get relief. This definitely works.


Sunburn Relief:


We love spending time outdoors, but constant exposure to the sun can cause sunburns and tanning. Aloe Vera works great but when you mix it up with a few drops of Lavender oil and store it in the fridge before you apply it, the sun burnt skin will feel an instant remission.


Acne treatment:



One of the major problems amongst women has to be acne, and a natural treatment seems to go a long way. Tea tree oil works great to zap those zits and also prevent formation of scars. For even more effectiveness, mix about 20 drops of tea tree oil to 60ml witch hazel and use each night.


Dandruff treatment:



If your dandruff doesn’t seem to go away despite the best of your efforts, this essential oil hack will definitely help you. Take Peppermint oil, Lavender oil and Lemon oil, probably two drops of each and add to carrier oils such as Argan, Coconut or Olive, and let them bind for at least 20 minutes. Let it sit on the scalp overnight and wash off the next morning, not forgetting your conditioner. Your hair will be flake free for sure.


At-home Spa:



To turn your bathroom into a spa, turn your shower to the hot side and add drops of your favorite essential oil to the bathroom floor. Try Sandalwood or Rose oil and experience Sheer Ecstasy.


Good Sleep:



Be it a day at work, or just a day working around the house, everyone needs to get a good night’s sleep! Add about 20 drops of Petitgrain oil to a spray bottle with water, and spray it on your bed sheets and pillows for you go to bed. The Petitgrain oil has similar relaxing properties as lavender oil but the subtle woody scent is known to calm and relax the nerves almost instantly!
